Welcome
to my visual diary. This
as window to the world of life on the road, or off the road,
or nowhere near the road. The only rule for posting snapshots
-- I can't be at home. It's just me, a feeling, and my palm
pilot camera. On occasion, I'll post the most engaging and
compelling snapshots with captions.

#1 FLYING J TRUCK STOP IN PENNSYLVANIA
I just got a new Palm Pilot for my birthday and wanted to
use the camera feature. The first photo above is from the
dining room at the Flying J Truck Stop. This is the one that
serves pizza and fresh Chinese food (fresh used loosely).
The food is behind me. I'm sitting at the counter pretending
to use my Palm Pilot while secretly taking this picture. The
hat is just a small part of the anxiously awaited new spring
line (available at Flying
Js everwhere).
#2 CAR PARKED IN FRONT OF
ME IN LOT OF NY REST AREA

The
next photo is from the parking lot at another rest stop. This
one is in New York. It's the rest area with the Dunkin' Donuts
and the bathroom that has a scale near the last stall in the
men's room. I bought a coffee and three donut holes (chocolate
glazed). Ends up, they didn't charge me for the donut holes
because there wasn't a button on the register for just three
donut holes. Lucky day. It just so happens that the nun driving
the car in the photo above was in front of me in line at the
Dunkin' Donuts. She ordered a crawler and a latte. True story.
In case you can't read the bumper sticker, it says, "Life
is short. Pray hard."
#3 THE INDEX FINGER LAKE OF
THE FINGER LAKES

This
is one of the Finger Lakes. There are five Finger Lakes (coincidentally,
there are also five fingers on a hand). Here it is. Feel free
to frame it (great for basements, rec rooms, and bait &
tackle shops).
