TURNING THE ART OF REJECTION INTO ART...

LOVE FOR LOVE

Do her eyes well up,
in the shear delight of seeing you?
Does she yearn for your closeness, in entirety,
pleading the heavens for a single kiss?
Every time she sees you, does she gasp for breath, swept away in awe,
your mere existence, enough to consume all her days?

And I guess you must love her,
making her perfect by shear admiration.
Imagine you reaching out, stroke her skin, smile,
sweep her into your arms, bury your face in her.
I bet you love the smell of her, the essence,
endless love...

...for that is what I desire

To hold you close, for the sake of holding you,
feel your warmth, warm your soul.
Every time you enter the room; I force myself to look away,
hide the longing in my eyes, the smile spreading across my face.
Why does she always get to win, and me lose;
the right to adore, caress, hold, assure, and fall in love.

All I wanted:
Love for Love;
an even exchange.
