Once It's in Writing It Can't Be Erased

Dear Harlan,

I thought you gave excellent advice to the young person writing about the creepy teacher online, particularly in mentioning to print out the pages before they are deleted. I've been a parent and a grandparent - and a longtime secretary through the years for psychiatrists and psychologists. If the pages are not dated, I would additionally recommend that the student date them. Document, document, document.

Shirley

Dear Shirley,

Interesting fact - President George W. Bush doesn't send or receive e-mail because he said that once it's in writing it's part of the record? Once it's recorded, it's hard to refute it. And for sure, when it comes to a creepy teacher who could get arrested or fired, it's essential to make sure it's documented.
