How Soon is Too Soon For "L" Word?

Dear Harlan,

I met a girl one week ago and fell for her. I have been in a few real relationships and know how they feel. The odd thing is that this feels like that. She said the "L" word to me, and I knew it was OK for me to say it too. Now what? Is love this soon even possible?

Loving It

*SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR REPLY:
One jumbo marshmallow. One microwave-safe plate. One microwave. One minute.)

Dear Loving It:

Please heat your jumbo marshmallow on a microwave-safe plate for about 45-60 seconds. As the marshmallow heats, you'll observe it inflating into a huge mound of steam-filled goodness. Once time runs out and things cool, the marshmallow will deflate into a shriveled-up lump of nothing. (WARNING: Wait until deflated marshmallow is cool before touching.)

Getting to your question - at this point, it's too hot to know if your "L" is anything more than emotions inflated under intense heat. You won't know until things cool down. And that takes time. Until then, enjoy it. Whatever kind of "L" you're experiencing, it's still sweet.
