The Plight of The Shy
Dear Harlan,
I've liked this guy at my work for the longest time and recently
told him I liked him. He told me he liked me back, but we're both
incredibly shy when it comes to picking up the phone and calling.
This whole relationship thing has been at a standstill for almost
a month. Still, he flirts as if nothing is wrong. What should
I do?

Not Working It,
You could always just grab his cell phone, dial in your number
and tell him to press send at 8:00 pm tonight. But that's just
sad (especially if he finds that he's too shy to press the button).
As rule, if a boy is too shy to call you, he's probably too insecure
to date you. Factor in working together and it's even more dangerous.
Should you make a move in only to later back away, he could freak.
Unless you're looking for a bad relationship with an insecure,
shy guy, keep him as a friend. I don't think he can handle much
more.
