REJECTION DIARY:

A Tale of Not Taking THE RISK

Dear Harlan,

I wanted to tell you about an opportunity I had about eight or nine years ago that I let slip through my fingers. At the time, I was going through a divorce and met a great guy. In fact, he was my dream guy in every way. But, being smart, I knew any relationship at that time might be stupid. However, having him as a friend would have been wonderful. I had an opportunity to invite him to a baseball game. I agonized and agonized and didn't do it.

To say the least, I regret that more than anything I've ever done in my life (considering the horrible things some do, I guess that's not so bad, huh?).

Sort of Sleepless Near Seattle

Dear Sort of Sleepless,

You know, it's baseball season again ... With about 80 home games, that leaves about 80 chances to make up for your mistake. And this doesn't even include the playoffs (think big). Please send an update at the All-Star Break
