I.R.P. ENTRY:
The Joy of Public Transportation

Dear Harlan,

I once did something so totally out of character I still can't believe it. Every day I would ride the bus to my job in downtown Houston. I would notice a very attractive young man who always took the same busses I did. From listening to his conversation with his friends, I could tell that he wasn't married. Since I was always very shy around guys, I couldn't imagine how we would ever meet. But one night I had to work late and take the last bus out. He had to work late, too, and was one of four people on the bus when I got on that evening.

Even though everyone on a virtually empty bus always has their own seat, I took a deep breath and walked up to the Mystery Man's seat and had him move over so that I could sit down. He took it from there. In August we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary. We have three beautiful children and we are still very fond of public transportation!
