Pain From Broken Engagement Is Unbearable
Dear Harlan,
My fiance just left me, and my heart hurts so bad I feel like ripping it out of my chest. I want to die, but I know I will hurt more people if I kill myself, so I don't want to do that. What should I do to help heal my heart?

I know someone who was married 34 yrs,early 50's, spouse cheated,they gave marriage another try as loved spouse so much,ended up in divorce. This person was devastated, wanted to grow old together and celebrate at least 50 yrs of marriage. Won't be able to ever have 50 yr celebration,but met someone 2 yrs later on line,married yr later and is happier now than ever was in previous marriage. PLEASE don't give up, especially when so many people who love u and care about u will be devastated. U WILL get thru this.
I went through something similar about 6 months ago. I had been in a relationship for almost a year when my ex broke up with me. Granted I have now realized that it was for the best and wouldn't go back to my ex for anything in the world. She was the first person that I felt I could really tell that I loved. A couple months after I met somebody new, and it has been the best thing ever. I felt that there was nobody else out there for me, and that I would be alone for a very long time. My now girlfriend has helped support me when things have been bad, and stood by me when my ex tried to get me back. You can get through this!!!!
